abuseWonderful last line, but the last part of the poem lost some of its "magic". I started to lose you with the stanza: "I see the sea and the sea sees me. / A sea of horses. Seahorses? / Morning has broken, like the new day...". I like your wordplay, but it seems almost pointless--not your entire poem, but just this sea/see stanza. The best part was: "Inside, desperate aunties / search for five hundred word meanings for life. / Count to one hundred / then look for the light / (spiritual hide-and-seek)." That was simple but beautiful. It reminds me of highschool when my English teacher would say, "Okay, everyone write a five hundred word essay on Shakespeare," and leave me staring: five hundred words?

Did I understand the poem? Nah, not really. But I appreciate it as a work of art. That one stanza rather bothers me, but it is by no means "bad" or "stupid". Just out of keeping with the rest of your poem, in my humble opinion.

abuseHa, I like it. I'm confused.

This is nice. It made me think for a minute, ponder and reflect. First time reading it through, it's a nice collection of random flashes like in a movie. Lots of interesting phrases... "spiritual hide and seek" (I like that one). Second time reading it through, I'm trying to figure out the "message." Considering the title... "this is modern art." I think I have it, but maybe not.

Typical English ** conditioned by those darn English teachers to find some hidden something.

I like it. It's intriguing.

abuseActually, I didn't mean to read this, but it caught my attention hopelessly. It's really good, even vocabulary, which is something people usually lack (I include myself in that one, but I'm not a native speaker...) The images are well developed and your control of words is frankly admirable. Keep the good writing up!
