I think the format of this really makes the poem, b/c the words are pretty straightforward, and the format just makes it better. And your author's note? Too freaking cute. Keep writing! :)

This was a beautiful poem but your authors note on the end just made me smile so much. This is something pretty much every one can relate to but just love your unique spin on it! The whole idea of edging closer is so true and perfect. Great poem x
