Wasted Postage 2006-07-29 . chapter 1This is a poem that I feel that I'll probably have to read at least a few more times before I actually grasp its full meaning. I like very much the image of the white stallion and the black mare, it really seemed to represent to me a sort of dualistic inner good vs. inner evil thing. Something like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I really liked the lines "Beautiful, untamed beasts/Fighting to be untouched while/Marked by hands who would waste you;" Powerful words in my opinion. You did an excellent job with this! ~*~AbunaiChikara |
Edraith 2006-06-13 . chapter 1This is so wonderful, I don't know why no-one has reviewed it yet! I love the symbolism of the two horses for two sied in the speaker's person, the "white" one reaching towards goodness yet often falling short of its ideals, and the "black" one which is fierce not because it is evil in itself but because it has been hurt and marred and therefore has become defiant in order to protect itself. There is much truth in this. The only line I cannot quite interpret is the last one: why do they disappear forever? |
