Quite abstract, I like it! :)

I personally loved your use of italics. It really added a descriptive kick to the story, especially the magnets. They seem to reflect his inner thoughts ("it's going to break before long..."). I also liked the repetition of the disappointment phrase and the negation at the end. Gives a story a definitive final. Good job!
