I can totally relate to this scenario. This sounds like my ex-bf after we broke up. We have barely spoken since then. It still hurts to see him with a fake smile on his face.

Hmm.. I find it interesting that she won't ever see him again. If they are childhood friends, why not at least call him? But, I don't know the rest or the beginning of this story. Very nicely written, I like how we never find out exactly what the names of these people are. Keep writing, and keep putting stuff up!

Ah, this is going to happen to me at the end of the year. The first and only person I fell in love with is graduating this year. They don't even know, and I don't have a shot anyway. I almost cried reading this, and she did what I hope that I don't do. Also, *hug*. The ending sounds hopeful, and I know that some people think that that is cliche, but it's human nature.

It's really sad... and I like it. :) But the last lines... aww! I really do hope they meet up again.
