This is an exercise in how many "big words" & obscure allusions you can cram into a poem (complimented by the ostantatious use of foreign languages & furthering the pretentiousness of it by italicizing them), along with a hokey, corny reliance on archaisms, instead of an attempt to make any sense or communicate a meaning to the reader. The lines that rest upon this foundation are almost all cliched ("he writes sad lines at night [an abstract, meaningless he present, too], "bleeds his pen dry", "rain over gilead", "they walk the fine line",- all of these just coming from the first strophe), along with lacking any music at all, making this dry & boring sounding. This is merely written to impress- nothing more.
