I've got just one criticism about this... a couple of times, you called 'Jacob', 'Greg', by accident. It was when Grace had just woken up in his house.

A few times you called Jacob Greg...which freaked me out. Until I figured it out! I'm very old fashioned too, but I know what you mean. Very very creepy about how Jacob saw a ski mask in Penny/Greg's house. I really hope the guy in the confessional wasn't Greg, because he seems like such a nice guy!

Jacob sounds hot! Seems there are a lot of different possibilities going on here. I can't wait to find out who the creep is. And when are Jacob and Grace gonna kiss?

As a catholic myself, I have to admit that it's difficult for me to read a story where a priest doubts the fundamental tenets and dogmas of his own Church.

However, there are many priests like this, and while I personally would not want to have such a priest serving me (especially one who would deny the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist), Fr. Jacob does come across as a sincere, well-meaning guy. His doubts do serve to make him seem more human and prone to the same faults and doubts we're all prone to.

Since the man in the mask was obviously not in there to truly confess and express contrition for what he wanted to do, Fr. Jacob is under no obligation to grant absolution (which isn't something he personally has the power to do, but rather done through christ).

Grace's concerns for his position are indeed valid, since to break the seal of confession, even to save a life, is a grave no-no. Interesting that a fallen-away Catholic would express more concern for Fr. Jacob's priestly ministry than Fr. Jacob himself!

This story actually reminds me of a brilliant Alfred Hitchcock movie, 'I Confess', in which a priest is framed by a killer, and because of his vows of sercrecy, cannot reveal things that would save him from being convicted.

I like the tension between Grace and Fr. Jacob. While we can sense there's this subtle attraction happening, Fr. Jacob once again battles with his humanity, and Grace's own personal experiences obviously place a divisive wedge between them.

I'll be interested to see where you go with this. Please continue. (I have my suspcions who the sicko is, but I'll wait until you reveal his identity.)

OH my. This revision is even better! Wow! I think it's really creepy and...well, it's good writing...but it's so creepy that you had this guy (and I think I know who he is too) confess to Jacob. Ep.

Romance... I love it. At least, I hope it remains a romance. And Jacob sounds cute... he'd be a bit of a challenge for any girl, huh?
