It is good, but I find a level of difficulty in developing pathos for Kara. While I don't think it should be so easy to develop these feelings of attachment, I do feel they are necessary to connecting with a character.

It wasn't what I expected; when I read the title I thought it would be about two friends fighting over a guy.

However, I think it would have been better if you had put the poem in the opening in quotation marks, to establish where the letter ends and the story begins.
