great start=]

pretty good, pretty fluid, if it's meant to be this short it may need some polishing to really be engaging. now if i may be permitted to be a little picky:

-"Penelope, who giggled every time you said anything to her" - it's the only instance where you use the second person in the whole piece. even if it's not a direct reference to the reader, either include more of these to make the feel complete or drop this one. just one use reads a little odd.

-"and called out the roll in a way that only Mr. Adelson can call it" - i'm not sure if it's the change in tense or what, but this one also reads a little odd. maybe reword it a litte? also, does he really have to call the list in a class with 5 people? can't he just look around and realize there's one person missing?

-why does soren talk to her this one time? why is it special? because, it says he's been "stalking" her for four years. you should flesh that out a little.

-as someone said before, that's an awful short class. have the scare at the end of class (with supernatural hints she isn't aware of) or have her do something for the rest of her class (or whatever you want to do) but you should prob. fix that

again, good work, keep it up
