Ah, a traditional end to the story of a great warrior. In the East, there is no great love for what we call here "happy endings." Most, if not all, of the great heroes in the East have noble ends, or tragic ones. This ending weaves both of these together. She refused to compromise her honor and herself, and so she chose the only path she could take (considering the culture, that is).

Anyway, it's a beautifully written story. Very realistic, with a lot more depth than the disney version.

That's...wow...just wow... I would probably not rate that K+. Some parents might be...upset if they saw their children reading this not to mention, "Mommy what's a concubine?" But...wow...

Unbelieveable. That was a good short story, well written. Now that sounds more like the truth, rather than the disney version. That is a sad story though. But why would the emperor not want other women to join his army though?

That was both sad and cool at the same time. Though this is a one shot I am half expecting another chapter to this. =P It was very good, an awesome that the the Mulan story (though I've only seen the Disney version ^_^;;)

Completely unbelievable (in a good way).

(You could add a little more detail to her emotions to make her seem more three dimensional- real. Also, you could elobarate on why the emperor didn't want the women to experience that freedom Mulan did. That part caught me hanging somewhat.)

Other than that, it was terrific and utterly beautiful. I love it!

((But I am hoping that you don't share the emperor's views on women...))
