abuseI don't understand how the line
'It’s funny how the French appropriate things.', a line about colonial land division (or so I'd think, I may be wrong) fits into the rest of the poem, which seems to be pertaining to poetry. I'm sure this is only because I'm missing something though. I'm not so good with classical forms of poetry.

I did like that the rhymes didn't seem forced, and the rhythm flowed well I thought.
