Reviews For: The 89th Key

W. O. W. That was crazy-insane good. It has to be added to the fav list as well ...

"Even after she stops playing, alone in the greenhouse/The hum goes on for awhile, even if no one can hear it/The tune of the 98th key/In her mother's old grand piano."

It was just such a beautiful ending ... and the whole thing dominated, really. I loved the way you could tell the story through the poem. Mine usually turn out a random string of thoughts that only sounds good as a poem ... so I'm still terribly jealous.

Felicia.

Review Response (Writing a Poem): Thanks so much for the delightfully long review! The poem was mostly inspired by ... poetry. I know that's how I feel. Thanks again for you kind words of kindliness and your super-great review!

This is an absolutely gorgeous poem! The imagery and emotion really bring the moment to life.

I especially like "dislodging colored tunes trapped in liquid notes along the way"-it's an exceptionally powerful image. Excellent job.

P.S. Thank you very much for the kind review =)

Gorgeous, love the last stanza the best. You're talneted, thats for sure. I love music, especially its healing qualities, if not the qualities that reveal things.

Wow, this poem was truly inspired. I loved it. My favorite stanza has to be:

Even condensation forms on the walls like quarter notesCrying with her, tears sliding down in their own composed pieceIntermingling, shuffling the colored water droplets of her emotionsAs the pale shadows evaporate into mists of heavy rain

I must say that this is one of the best poems I've read in a very long time. Amazing poem! Keep writing forever and always!
