ch 1,
abuseThis is good read.

I think of the whole ocean thing is perfect, as a visual and as a metaphor about your future, both literally and figuratively. You look into your future. Your pine over your future, where you will be, where the books and words will float to. I works so well. And I really like the way you repeat this theme over and over, like waves, never ending, always questioning what comes next.

You have a great way of drawing the reader into your "insane sense". "I want sense," leads you, like a distracted thought, into wishes for your future companion.

There are parts of this poem which bring to mind personal thoughts. Like this mention of "Lucifer seemed/A revolutionary" This makes me think of William Blake, who created an entire mythology. His mystic religiousnous was influenced by the revolutions going on at the time, the French and American revolutions. I think he considered his raising certain things, which are commonly thought of as sinful (sex in particular), to the level of spirituality or the start of spirituality, as revolutionary. Blake really was a hippie at heart.

The beach is indeed a powerful haven for wandering thoughts!

I love the stanza that mentions the "salivating shore" -- again you future is lurking right there, touching you, licking you. I love the passing with three waves, like wishes. Then the parenthetic mocking, with coppery tanned perfection, the allure of your feminine back...it works for me!

And there you go again with the angles on truth..

I love this stanza:

Bring me a smile/So that I may wear/It like an awkward/Half-moon upon my/Face./When it fades, so/Does my humanity

This is typical of your best, which is so enjoyable to read. This just titillates me. Half-moon speaks of night, and night is when all the scarey wonderful naughty things happen. I am smiling at your words -- wouldn't want your humanity to fade!

Lets raise a toast to beauty! Well done!
