BearHeart 8/27/06 . chapter 1 I really like this poem. It is a picture of foundation and love. It is a tribute to the past while looking to the future. It is love without saying "I love you". I like the way you repeat the line "I'm spreading my wings now, Momma". My favourite lines are "Tentatively, I stand by the edge, wings poised. The world ...clear above". I can see you greeting your life with confidence. Well written. |
Halcyon Impulsion 8/26/06 . chapter 1A lot of poigniancy in this - lots of change. My only crit would be the use of the word "always" twice in the second stanza - it doesn't seem to be an intentional repeat (though ifit is, just ignore me). My favorite part is this: This is the moment you’ve waited for;/All my life, this is the instant you’ve wanted. It really connotes a parent that wants their child to have the world - that is a beautiful thing. Good work. |
