This totally reminds me of that scene in Phantom of the Opera where Christine gets all possessed by Erik (it's the song "Phantom of the Opera") and she passes out and he lays her on that seashell-shaped bed, and he stands over her singing "the music of the night."

But maybe I'm just weird.

I love the last line! "Our bruises cascade down our memories" is fantastic, too.

The imagery is powerful, haunting in its display. The personification - divine. 'air flaunting' 'bruises cascade'. I'm in love with this poem. It's exquisite, dark, and oh-so beautiful.

Ah, such is dreaded aftermath often called 'regret'.

Hm... Such a Yoda sentence.

But yes. This is true to life and your first stanza actually explains everything perfectly.

I love "our bruises cascade down our memories" and "dripping her emotions on bed sheets, / only to fall onto the floor." Love this.
