abuseYeah, that was our generation's tragic event... :/ Like one set of my grandparents are Japanese and sometimes they reminisce about the atom bombs in Hiroshima/Nagasaki (my grandmother was in Hiroshima that time and she says she still remembers it clearly) instead of Pearl Harbor, though =| WWII, anyone?

Thanks for writing this.

I didn't find out about the whole business until a week later. Meh, I'm so uninformed Dx

abuseThis was a good little piece of writing. :)

You probably don't care, but your writing got me in the mood, so now I'll say that I only found out about the whole 9/11 thing, like, two months after it happened...

abuseGood writing here. Sometimes the biggest impressions are left with the littlest of words. Eek... I remember that day - or rather, the morning of it. The scene was awful...

At any rate, this was well written. The ending is rather good, as well, because the overall piece sounds along the lines of poetic. It leaves the piece off with the sentence "I saw no planes" just 3 lines after being told that the military sent planes to protect - it gives a message that you felt no protection. Eek... still scary to think back on that day.

Great work though

abuseYea...I know...

You live in New York then, huh? I hope you didn't lose anybody to the attack, if I may ask?

Our school didn't even tell us the attack happened. We had a regular class day and I went home and saw it on the news. I don't remember the day being anything but average. It wasn't a slow school day, nor fast. Nothing fun or boring happened.

No one called me that day to talk about it. My dad got home and I asked what the deal was and he didn't know about the attack either.

It's amazing how oblivious people would have you with no reason...

abuseWell, that was sad...anyway, it was a world-wide news. I still remember the pucture of that satan-like figure of smoke. Anyway, that was past.

abuseIt's a bit short, but I think we can all relate to it a lot as we were all alive when it happened. It's one of those things where what you were doing sort of gets freeze-framed in your memory, and although some of the things may fade away the details remain...I remember the way more and more kids were being called for early dismissal throughout the day, and finally they told us, "We've just found out that some countries in the world are very angry with the U.S., we're not allowed to tell you anything else at this time". It was so scary.

Thanks for writing this story... we're all starting to forget about it, and this brought it back into sharp, clear focus.

abuseWow, there's a lockdown at your school? You must be living near or in New York.

I remember when I first heard the news, I didn't think it was so serious. I've never imagined that things had gone so wrong.

abuse*Sigh* I think part of the reason this hits me so hard is I understand the feeling, since I was alive when it happened too.

This was a good piece of writing, though a kind of sad reminder.

abuseI remember that day so clearly. Ironically, even though I live in NY, our school didn't get locked down. We were told at the end of the day before we got home though and the details were foggy(my memory might be the problem). I had no idea of the extent until I watched the news that afternoon. I swear I must've seen the replay a hundred times.

abuse-sigh- Yep, that was our generation's big tragic event.

They didn't tell us anything at my school, so I heard what happened when I got home. First time I ever heard of the Pentagon or the Twin Towers.

abuseInteresting. You must live in a different timezone than me, cause I was still getting ready for school when I found out about it. Turned on the TV and there it was plastered all over the screen; I even saw the second one hit.But I like how you did this, btw, and the transisition/ending. My only 'problem' with it is that I can't figure out if it is a transition or an ending. It feels like it could be either. So if it is a transition, well done! If it's an ending...well, that's a bit trickier. I don't want you to change it cause it's really good, but at the same time, if it is an ending, it needs more of an ending to it. Maybe just extend it a bit is all. Anyway, good stuff!
