And generally, this is when regret and jealously usually seeps into me (I suppose it will later...) because when I read stuff this good, I feel inspired, but that inspiration turns quickly enough into bitterness, and I'd like that not to happen...because I love your poems. So ignore my lack of competence with these reviews (you see, I am an illusionist, and I trick myself into beliveing (only for seconds, really) that I can write, but I really can't) and just pretend this sounds nice and makes you feel good. What I mean is, this is beautiful. My favorite line is /Darling,
you’re so lovely
that it just might kill me./

Ack.. so bitter. Bitter and biting like the winter that followed. "It was the winter of our discontent..." flew to mind, by John Steinbeck. Dissimilar reasons, most likely, but being discontent with our lot can lead to disaster... almost without exception. I'm sure I've veered, but was what this conjured up.

I can't deny that the layout and execution were very good, though. We have to capture whatever is of the moment, I do know that, so keep writing. TT

Wow. This is an interesting piece. It has a very disjointed feel to it, and it works, because it's all about this moment of suspension, hanging in between seasons. I love the image in the last stanza of a leaf crumbling in disbelief. That just really stuck out. Interesting and beautiful work. Keep writing! :)

it's charming. but i suppose i'm partial to many poems that use the seasons in them. i love the imagery you manage to project. quite lovely.
