These two lines are amazing:

"Until there is only one

Two, one"

I think you should end the poem here, I believe the reader can fill in the rest. But, I do like the line "led this foray" which would be cut out. So maybe I am just typing with out thinking...

Very metaphoric if met in the right context. You were going for a simplistic diction and repetitive to prove a point but while repeating words are fine try not to repeat meaning... Very thought-provoking.
