Bloody Penhand 2006-10-18 . chapter 1"Who can be wise, amazed, temperate, and furious,
Loyal, and neutral, in a moment? No man:
The expedition of my violent love
Outrun the pauser reason." -Macbeth (Shakespear 95)
A good poem, with even better questions. Maybe there was no lie, but in each moment in each feeling, each word was true. A lie is only made with deceit held knowingly in the mind and heart; as bad as things that may have been said may have been, maybe the good things, as good as they were, were true, too.
There are no expectations, and, though scars remain, pain recedes in time after the skin has been threaded back together. As bad as a moment is, other moments can only be better, have been better, and are the things we cling to for sanity.
Then again... there are two sides to every coin... |
