| give me back my childhood 2006-11-05 ch 1,   | this is a pretty simple poem (I think), but there's just something about it that strikes me. I think it's the irony in the irony. because while "peace" and "calmness" are usually symbolic of positive events, it is used to represent more morbid images here like "graveyards" and "cold and death". however, it still makes sense because "graveyards" are in a way peaceful (I mean, you don't see people partying there), and "cold and death" and in a way calming, after all, the person should "rest in peace". (: and when I read "Toes numb", I kept picturing a girl hugging her knees close to her body, which really helped the whole effect. because that is usually a pretty inactive position. (: nice work! oh, and I'll be sure to take note of the titles I choose. thanks so much for pointing that out! (: |
