de wolf 2008-02-25 . chapter 1 i know this was written a long time ago, but i just randomly came up on it today.
that was intense...really beautiful, i can't speak gaelic myself, but i've lived in scotland for long enough to understand the beauty of that country.
good job with this piece. |
Alice Faraday 2007-02-06 . chapter 1This is a really cool poem...I don't quite get it (but it's poetry so who cares!) It flows so nicely, like honey and milk. Beautiful.

burn our city 2006-12-11 . chapter 1Again, you have a truly awesome way with words. Really good poem, I like the premise, too ( |
no.peace.los.angeles 2006-12-11 . chapter 1Interesting and beautiful wording, as usual. This one is a bit more foreign to me, and perhaps a bit more dense, as well, so it doesn't hit me as much as some of the others. It's still a gorgeous piece, though. Keep writing! :) |
Anaare 2006-10-30 . chapter 1I wonder, are you Irish? Or do you have Irish ancestry? Anyway, truly beautiful and wonderful. I also loved the summary, which wasn't in the poem. So, very well done once again! |
greenGalilee 2006-10-29 . chapter 1Incidentally, I was listening to the prelude of Bach's first Cello Suite. The words of this poem, accompanied by the sharply sweeping notes, gave an incredible result. I remember that when I first heard of Gaelic, its different forms, and its rich history, I immediately fell in love with it. I wish I could speak it.
Thanks for writing this. The word choice in the third stanza is especially lovely. |
Moondog Dozier 2006-10-29 . chapter 1"And anachronism grows and richocets-within her", is just heartbreakingly vivid and specific. This truly captures the concept and the antiquity well. It is enhanced greatly by the atmosphere that you've created through the word choice and placement. Wonderful, and stone gray vivid, which is a good thing. In a sidenote I love the Monty Python quote on your page, was watching it just tonight, and got an eerie, but humorous feeling when I saw that. Such marvelously dripping word choice you use. I learn from the thought provoking connections that you make. MD:77. |
