| Itzcoatl 2006-11-12 ch 1, | abusehmm I dont think this is the most important turning point. In my belief ( I'm not Turkish at all) is when the Turkish tribes decided to go to A) China or B) Anatolia then comes the year 1171. The Turks are now fighting a battle against the Byzantine Empire for control of Anatolia. The Byzantines lose. The result is this The Crusades Byzantines go to Europe. This coupled with gold from Mansa Musa's pilgramage kickstarts the Renaissance in Italian City States. Finally the Turks destroy Constantinople and rule the trade routes to China, India and Indonesia. Europeans set off to explore more trade routes and bump into the Americas. |
