Stupid aliens! Damn! Sci-fi writers really do need to get original again, i agree. The only people i've seen get a good idea of original alien species are george Lucas and whoever made Mass Effect. I LOVE KROGANS.

Just a comment on the rant about aliens.

Try Alastair Reynold's books...I think his portrayal of the far future is really good, and no, the humans don't interact with any aliens - they can't understand the beings. Really very very good, because I thought the aliens were just so unbelievably alien, and his plotlines are good as well.

Just read his books :P I can't stop saying it...but I'm very sure you won't regret it.
