| no.peace.los.angeles 2006-11-09 ch 1, | abuseOkay, so, Virginia Woolf in a poem? Equal automatic favorite for me. Holy crap. The last stanza killed me. I am dead. Gorgeous gorgeous poem. There is so much here, and that to me, just ahh, I can't even speak. I need to like print this out and be like, look at what someone wrote, and I wish I had written. Totally showing a friend of mine this because I think he will appreciate it. Keep writing! :) |
| ravenquill 2006-11-09 ch 1, | abuseoh, beautiful and striking. Virginia Woolf is always interesting to read about. |
| dress her up in fairytales 2006-11-07 ch 1, | abusei jsut thought i'd come by and say that i adore the line in your profile. it struck me hard because ... it's true ... that's what they do. & also, woolf is a great writer. |
| sylvia's syndrome 2006-11-05 ch 1, | abuseWow. This is great work. I loved the line, “a poet with blue lips knows me better than your refinement will ever let you see.” The first bit about the poet is a striking statement— at first, I only paid attention to it. But when I reread the poem, the second half of the phrase is caught my eye as well, and I believe it is more deserving. Sure, the blue lips are a great image and you’ve certainly rephrased “dead” in an interesting way. But that last bit is really cutting, very shrewd, and extremely telling. The simple words give a lot of insight into both the persona speaking and the person being spoken about. Keep up the amazing work! |
| Nobody-n-Particular 2006-11-04 ch 1, | abuseQuite powerful. |
| Elenive 2006-11-04 ch 1, | abuseThe minute I read this I was reminded of Ophelia in Shakespeaere's Hamlet. The muted pain shows right through both her character and this piece. Amazing. |
| B. M. Reed 2006-11-04 ch 1, | abuseThis is such a beautfiul poem. I don't think the rating is appropriate, though. |
| bread and circuses 2006-11-03 ch 1, | abuseI love your linebreaks. They're always so well thought-out. This whole poem is so amazing - it feels perfect. The tone, the imagery - it's all incredible. I really love 'now you laugh/ when i am buried/ in her biography.' and of course, 'neither/ is for you.' This is definitely a favourite. |
| lackluster 2006-11-03 ch 1, | abusei'm smiling. it's that bittersweet smile you can't stop from creeping into your face. it's so directed towards this one person; i don't know what to say. "a poet with blue lips": to die for. |
| Aimee Raven 2006-11-03 ch 1, | abuseOh. Wow. I am speechless. This is perfect. I *adore* it, I really do. I bought Virgina Woolf's complete works just three days ago and now I will definitely read more, I do love Mrs Dalloway though. This is just so..."a poet with blue lips knows me" and the last three lines...ah. Your writing is amazing! Keep up the brilliantness! Love, Mia |
| poetic abortion 2006-11-03 ch 1, | abuse**. This. Is. AMAZING. B-blue lips and "i put one stone in each pocket, neither is for you" and, oh god, Virgina Woolf and, uh, I'm really happy in the say, achy way you leave me and, uh, wow. [favd] It is so pretty. So sad, meloncholic and PERFFECT. Damn, it makes me want to write about necrophilia and love and pain and, guh, love you. I'm inspired, squee! Love, love, love, LOVE. - Noelle |
