The first story is genuinely intriguing, even with dark confessions given in confessional booths being a somewhat overused plot device. I especially liked the Shakespeare quote.
Ante Up was more remarkable - I'm a sucker for spiritual metaphors - and really leaves one wanting to find out how the game of cards will unreel itself. Also, the descriptions of Life and Death were very original, turning these intangible concepts into ordinary-looking people (cocktail dress, purse etc.) In particular, it was nice to see a female Death and not another masculine Grim Reaper type.

This card game between Life and Death. I'd never even think of such a plot, but I find the story strangely mesmerizing. If possible I think you should continue with it. Nice work.
