I especially liked the Shakespeare quote. Ante Up was more remarkable - I'm a sucker for spiritual metaphors - and really leaves one wanting to find out how the game of cards will unreel itself. Also, the descriptions of Life and Death were very original, turning these intangible concepts into ordinary-looking people (cocktail dress, purse etc.) In particular, it was nice to see a female Death and not another masculine Grim Reaper type. |
