Sobriquet Queen 1/27/07 . chapter 1Greek mythology... I love it. A powerful poem; strong vocabulary but not 'writing by numbers' (e.g. how many big words can I fit in this sentence, a simile, a semi-colon, etc.). |
With Rhyme and Reason 12/8/06 . chapter 1Really good. I like how you point out that immortality is NOT always a good thing. Sometimes it's downright crap. My favorite stanza is the second-to-last stanza, where you really get into the meat of the story. The Tantalus myth has always made me feel a little uneasy, a little ill. And though "Forever is such a long time." borders on cliche, I really like it in this poem. It sums up eternal torture. Ah, the terror of immortality. |
zoli and the pandasocks 12/2/06 . chapter 1Breathtaking. Beautifully dark and as deep as the tainted soul of Tantalus himself. I love how you've managed to make him the protagonist and antagonist at the same time, and how the speaker both pities and scolds and sympathizes with him. Congratulations on a job well done! |
