I can't really relate at all to the maine character, but the story really struck a note with me. I loved it, and I don't entirely know why. I actually couldn't smile after reading it! Very well-written and descriptive. It's a shame that you can't summarize very well - I wouldn't have read this if I wasn't part of that contest. ^.^'
