I can't believe that this came from that Evanescence song! I love the twists and the portrayal of the fae court. The characters are perfect for fitting in the story, and, well, this is based on a song based on my favorite faerie tale, so I can't help but love it!
I am a bit confused, however. You talk about the prophecy, implying that the ancestor was Snow White, but then it turns out that the mother is and confusion abounds. You'd have to tweak a bit, but I think that everything would make more sense if you changed things so that the mother is the only Snow White-like character, or so that this has happened many times before and the mother is NOT Snow White.

lets just say that I can't think of that song the same way anymore...thats was incredible though I must say you had me hooked from start to finish. *adds to faves*

Aw, wow. I love it. At first I didn't think much of it, but since I've always liked your stories, I'd thought I'd give this a try. I'm glad I did. This was so beautiful, in a mystical way. I defiantely like this better than fairytales.

I really love this...

I very much liked the interesting take on the Cinderella myth, but right from the beginning I wish it had been more detailed. We don't see much of William's resentment towards his mother, which must surely be there. I mean, the ** has had him locked up for years! Admittedly, he's out of the loop, but we also miss what the castle thinks about it. Isn't his father a tad suspicious?

Also, the boy is obviously a bit dim. Doesn't it strike him that his mother is an evil ** who is not to be trusted with apples?

Still, I can't help enjoying the sinister turn your story takes when you bring in the Unseelie. Interesting idea, very interesting, although I don't know I feel that you wasted your chance to create a huge amount of awful, terrifying, horrifying drama and a massive amount of angst by having the seduction be so, if you'll forgive me the term, anticlimatic. Admittedly, most stories like that are bastards to write, and not terribly pleasant to read unless done delicately, but still... A wasted opportunity, methinks.

My one other problem is that the prince is a bit two dimensional. He might be more, but all the onlooker can see is the pretty face. Is Aurelius perhaps a tad shallow?

So! Despite the negativity of this review, and my slight dubiousity of the Evanescence song (at least it wasn't a songfic. I loathe them with a passion) I did very much enjoy this, even if I do wish it was longer, more detailed, darker and nastier. Thank you muchly.

I love this Snow White rewrite. It reminds of Tanith Lee's book "White as Snow" (which I recommend. Slightly dark with a few added twists)

this is really interesting... I liked it. I DO wonder, however, what it was that changed the queen so much from when she was a child. I love how she assumed it would be a daughter that would be captured and taken to the fairy palace - I also love the irony that she resented the fairy prince because he could not love her... and that William didn't have that problem. Whee ^_^ I feel a little bad for the mother - but I hope that she and the dark king give each other a merry hell for many years XD

It was a lovely twist on the Snow white tale.

I like fairy tale revamps a lot. This was really good too and I have an immense fascination with the Seelie courts so kudos on incorporating that into your story. I know this was a one-shot but I thought that Aurelius and William fell in love a bit too quickly (okay I know, in the actual fairy tale its even less developed) but they were cute so um yes. I am overly fond of evil stepmothers and yours was extremely satisfactory. I shall now go download the song illegally.

I love this song, but I must say that i love the story more. it was fantastic! darling, perfect. Truthfully, it almost reminded me of the book Tithe, what with the faerie courts. anyway, wonderful, beautiful job. It was absolutely touching, truthfully. I love the bit about his mother falling in love with Aurelius. I bet it ** her off that, not only is her son more attractive than she, he also got the man she wanted. *SNICKERS* Anyway, fantastic job!
