I love the beginning, how it's vague and that the reader doesn't know exactly how the two met but the impression that he left on her is what's more important than that!

Just one small thingie; Could that he what she sought?
Do you mean 'could he be what she sought?'?

But that's tiny compared to the rest. I loved the sappy ending, though the alternate ending does seem a bit more realistic. ;-; Poor guy though!!
