humm, good chapter. but would greenlee honestly risk losing the safety she has staying there b/c it is hard to be near Charles? She has nothing, wouldn't she try to hold on to what she has of value instead of just giving it up? If she is just risking herself then wouldn't she be willing to if she has already resigned herself to leaving?

I have to say I was not that fond of this chapter. I know you worked on this story over 2 years but this chapter just seems so repetitive. EVERYONE has talked about how scared they are of being discovered and there hasn't been a whole lot of forward motion with the plot and all the jumping of POV makes it hard to get an indepth look at any one character, if you wanting this to be more of a character study.

Jackson seems to be the most interesting to me, being he knows what he is doing is wrong and seems the most "street smart" about the whole thing and that is interesting. He seems like the type who could just stop the relationship without anyone knowing he cared one way or another. But neither relationship is moving forward and I wonder when the next major plot point is coming. Anyway reading on.

I am liking JAckson's character although I can't really see how he fits into the whole story, other than just being another person on the plantation.

But why would Master James buy him because he was being so poorly treated if he honestly didn't care at all if he lived or died? And why would he allow his slaves to be beaten?

Wouldn't the older people have more of the thoughts on slavery people now do instead of the children who spent their whole lives with the system?

charles says "what kind of parent cares more about their social status than the safety and well-being of their own flesh and blood" . . . but wouldn't it be utterly shamful to have a child who is a slave or to sell your child into slavery? And how could they have enough money to celibrate x-mas as described and then have to see her into slavery?

And in the last chapter you said the guy who was throwing the party, sorry can remember his name, was one of the richest men in the country? IS money now made from land and not Tchnology? It is slightly confusing.

Also Emily should have been raised to be subservient to men but she obviously isn't, I wonder about where her character is going . . . You have a lot of interesting things happening and I wonder where it will all lead.

And omg but you end the last chapter with a cliffhanger and then don't answer it in this chapter!?!?!? EVIL! ;)

lol she must be living in a dream world if Ana's words hurt her. She hasn't adjusted to being a slave very well has she?

I wonder about Charles and David's relationship. They are twins right? Don't most twins have a close relationship? Why aren't they close? Anyway interesting.

I don't know what to make of Emily, At first I thought she was being minipulative trying to get Charles in trouble but obviously not. This story vaguely reminds me of "The Handmaiden's Tale" by Margret Atwood. You might like it.

Good chapter, you have a lot of drama going on here and it is a refreshing change to see a couple on FP with actual problems keeping them apart and the writing has gotten considerably better from the first few chapters, most likely because the first ones were written so long ago, and now that I look at the start date the 2009 makes slightly more sense but I still see that female president as Hilary ;)

I kinda like the switching of POV here, but I wonder why they aren't allowed to have a relationship. What will happen to him? is it illegal? If she is property why would she be punished for obeying her master if he demands she have an affair with him? Anyway reading on.
