I wanted to read that long fairy tale one, but I have to save that one for another day. Instead I read this and my favourite part is: “Holy shit, Ayers! You’re naked!” That got everyone’s attention, including Ayers’, who glanced down at his fully-clothed body in some confusion. Thomas looked up, grunted and returned to his laptop and curly fries, while Michelle, who had just arrived, gasped. “Damien’s right! Where’s that thing you always wear, you know, the brown fuzzy whats-he-called that’s always draped over your arm.” Ayers blinked. “Kea?” “Yeah, you two are like attached at the hip or something.” Bahahaha! This was great! Good work. |

| the sacred night 2007-04-10 ch 1, | abuseThis is kind of cute, especially the ending. I think everything gets resolved too easily, though. The characters bring up some pretty weighty issues like drugs and whatnot, and they're very dismissive of them as if they're really not that big a deal. If they're really scarred enough that they can't trust each other, then why can they talk about the experiences so flippantly? Also, they change their minds awfully quickly. Whenever someone reveals new information, it's as if the other characters are blank slates, ready to change everything they believe about each other because they hear one sentence. It takes time to process something that changes your perception of another person, especially when you're in a close relationship. They accept bits of news too easily and alter their ways of thinking about them to fit said bits of news too easily. |
