It's funny, I wrote a poem about a Phoenix as well, so I felt I should read this poem haha. The line, "The bird did rise," seemed a bit awkward to me. Maybe "The bired arose" would be better? Just my thoughts. Great alliteration in the description of the Phoenix, with the line, "Murky Maroon." The lines, "Death" and "Sorrow" were beautiful! :)
