Such a sad, sad thing it is when black people lower themselves to self-hate. I know it happens all the time, but it still makes me miserable. I'm sure the narrator in the story/poem/one-shot was beautiful. I'm sure "her man" thought she was, too. But SHE just didn't see it, because she was so busy comparing herself to a different kind of beauty, what this misguided American society dictates as beauty. I don't know, it just bothers me as valid as it is.

Okay...I'm off my little soap box now. It was a fairly decent story...I thought the ending was sweet and endearing. Nice job, on all the subtexts themes and all :)
