Overall, captivating. Creative prologue. "Even thought I hated", should be though. I saw an incorrect word usage somewhere but lost it.

I really like this, you've managed to capture the mood of the time perfectly. I can imagine all the goings on and the voices of the people speaking, and that's a sign of a good story, in my opinion. Looking forward to reading more ^^
