This is exceptionally good. However, your dialogue is too modern for the period. I don't think an aristocrat from the Phillipines would call a man "a guy." Since Gracela (pardon my spelling) was raised by wealthy, strict parents she'd most likely be permitted to call them "gentlemen." And also, shouldn't the maids treat their misstress with slightly more respect? By calling her "Miss Gracela"?

I'm sorry if I was nitpicky, but those are just my suggestions.

ABH
