I'm really interested in how the Jessica character is developing. She seems shallow, self-absorbed, and she has a blatant lack of tender motherliness towards her own child; and yet, I identify with her, and I find myself rooting for her. I adore the weightiness of the last sentence, and even though it could use some more detail, I'm enjoying this piece immensely thus far.

How sad! But it's a perect tragedy.

Oh. That was a shocker. I love the last statement and how much weight it carries. I don't know whether to feel sorry for Jessica or not, though. It's hard to imagine how hard it would be for her, but she seemed to want to give up so easily.
