Oh, that is a haunting piece. I like how the story is from the POV of Davy's sibling (I'm assuming sibling, anyway). And yet you include his thoughts, too. Sad, and then you get insight into the mother's character with the last line. So nicely done. Keep writing! :)

Oh; I love the twist and turns and this should be a novel, because it is such a tease at only 50 words.
