| PaintedBlind 2007-04-27 ch 1, | I just happened upon this piece, and it is very poignant. Very well-written. I kinda wish there was more to read. It tells such a story in so little words. I agree with your other reviewer, scottie's world - you can really envision the scene of a wizened officer thinking this to himself as he watches his soldiers in the field. Makes me want to watch Saving Private Ryan. Very well-written. |
| scotti 2007-03-06 ch 1, | Wow! Assassain, this was over-the-top great. As I read the piece, I could hear, off in the distance, the choppers flying by overhead; the screams of men on the battlefield calling out, being laid open by stray bullets, dying where they fall; the bombs and gunfire running rampent as the Sergeant pulls his rookie Lieutenant aside, both held up in a hole somewhere admist the battle, saying your words: "Save your scars, soldier. You will need them; believe me, you will need them." The grief and emotional trama a soldier packs around inside his head must be great. Nice job relaying it here, Assassian. ~Scottie |
| Lady Lunacy 2007-02-22 ch 1, | Wow. That's so true, sadly. I got captured in it, like I was picturing these memories, traumatizing this war vetran. You've got some serious talent. |
