I'm sorry, but I just couldn't connect with the story, but I'm not criticising your abilities as an author.

Your abilities as an author is fine- especially with capturing expressions- sometimes some authors go overboard with the description and whatnot, but you seem to have not done so.

I hope I can see another story of yours with a plot that I can connect with a lot better.
