M. I am terribly impressed by and enamored of this. "Lonely and heavy and white with sound." One of those lines that sums up the rest of the poem in few and lovely words. I like the continuously evoked comparisons made between humanity and birds on an electrical line; I have never considered man in such a way before, but it is a pensive and monumental image. The poem, I think, would have been even better - though that's hardly possible - if the middle stanza would have been leavened by a handful of breaks between lines, or a softening of the imagery in some places. Otherwise, this is quite phenomenal - and I do not use that word lightly. - Kat
