This is very interesting so far...the vocabulary and writing in general is exquisite. :)

As an equestrian major I have to inform you that Lipizzaners are never, under any circumstances, black. They are gray, although an occasional Lipizzan is born that is bay. Good story though!

So,

in this novel there is a count, a boy by the name of Raoul, a soprano opera singer, and these things all have to do with an opera. Hmm . . . . and, what are your favorite books?

A marvelous ending - and yes, I do love Raoul dearly. His character is so intricate and well-developed. In fact, so are all the characters in this story; each is a multi-layered, fascinating creation. I also love the descriptiveness of this story, as well as its historical accuracy. They add another dimension to this work. Anyway, I loved it!
P.S. - The idea of six more novellas as well as a full-length novel is very exciting. I'm eagerly anticipating them!

Delightful, delightful. The Count d'Argentile is increasingly becoming one of my favorite characters. Ava is a refreshing departure from some of the other women Raoul has pursued, and I find his outlandish behavior in his quest to woo her superbly amusing. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I just wanted to say that I love your writing style. It's somewhat hard to find an author such as yourself who writes so formally, but elegantly and beautifully, and given the era that your story is set, your style really portrays the romanticism and formality of the period. Well Done!
