Will has the typical reaction of someone who abuses (the "I'm sorry, I'll never do it again" reaction -so, good characterization)... sadly, physical violence usually escalates. I know, it's fiction. But it's enough of a reality for some people that I hope your character can find a way out :/

It was nice, but I'd not have used italic to mark the "flashback", because it distorts the reading ability. And Will didn't really strike me as a typical male with his words and reaction. Other than that it was well written and interesting.

Not bad, Will kind of sounded like a girl rather than a guy though. And I wouldn't have had bold words like that either, though I know it was to show emphasis... I think it was a little cheesy.
