I liked that. I thought it was so simple, and yet so meaninful. And that feeling... not being able to forget, it just hurts way too much, doesn't it? And you expressed it really well.

This should become a song. Or at least out there. because it's so true. I like your style; it's very interesting (the hyphens and italics).

I like the powerful verbs: sheltered, break, built, left, move on, ache, etc.
