CleavageMouse 2008-10-27 . chapter 1
This is excellent--all prosey but not over the top? I don't know, but there's this definite feel about it. For some reason, and this really has nothing to do with your fic so much as the fact that I have IB Lit on the brain, this girl reminds me of the Trueba women from The House of the Spirits (Allende, if you're curious.) At any rate, there was this one passage where Allende talks about the women of the revolution, who were characterized by this kind of stoicism.

This woman has it, but not necessarily in a good way. She's all stone and no wind-softness, ya know? Like she knows that she prefers this pretend man to a real one, but doesn't care.

Anyways, I hope you don't mind my odd thought angles. I really did like this one. ^.^
