I admire the subtlety of your work- the blend of metaphor and allusion to the Disney movie cause this retelling to be very interesting. It is obvious that you can express yourself, and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.

Your analysis is very good. Ironically, fairy tales are some of the most difficult pieces to assess.

I like how you played with the story, and personally love retellings of classic fairy tales. What you have here is presicisely how a tale would have been told - simple and to the point. The irony is wonderful.

Just for fun (but mostly because I'm a dork), the version of Beauty and the Beast we're familar with today was written in the 18 century by a French noble woman who lost her fortune. She was a governess and wrote the tale as a lesson for her pupils. I'm not sure if you did this on purpose, but your retelling fits perfectly with this history.
