I'm wondering if you've ever read this satirical proposal (I can't remember the name of the author) about a proposition to end the potato famin that took place in Ireland? I believe the idea was that all lower classes with too many children to feed could sell their babies to those who could afford them. The babies would then be eaten, which would reduce the growing population and also provide food for those already mature. This essay reminded me of that.

I'm going to be chuckling all day.
