This is a good poem over all. To make it more poetic though, maybe you should chop some of your sentances up. I really like what you did do with it. Just a tip: Poetry doesn't have to be grammatical correct, nor does it have to have complete sentances.

This was my favorite line: 'These shackles of discouragement and hate will finally fall'

And I liked the message this poem had. Keep up the good work.
