Sarcastic Presence
2007-03-21
ch 1,
I really like this poem. It does make me think of the Romans, but in particular, this reminds me of a poem from the Amores (Ovid's work), in which he compares a lover to a soldier (as would be consistent with your A/N).

"No matter how many have died
How many have suffered
Or how much blood is at our feet
We will never stop fighting."

Good... I want to say line, but I don't think that's it. Oh, well, that's the word I'm going to use. Good line. I liked the imagery... well, not saying that I liked the idea of them standing in blood... oh, you know what I mean. I liked the strength, the resilience (sp?) behind those words. It was good. I love Latin and the Romans, so this also was in my alley.
Keep writing!
