Your style is inherently beautiful. Nicely poetic. I don't think I've ever looked at romance that way before... cold. My interpretation of romance was always either passionate or tender. Your perception of the world is refreshing.
At the same time I don't think I fully understand the human philosophy behind it. It took me a few rereadings to decide what exactly the character was experiencing and how it was possible for her to feel this way. I think I understand now. The entire story exudes the cruel irony of life. I especially liked the ending, the hint at how you never know what you have until you lose it.
But what exactly is "the end"? Did they know she had cancer to begin with? Did they know their marriage wouldn't work out? Or is it just a sixth sense kind of thing? |
