This is a fantastic poem- I love it. It holds so much truth... You are very wise and perceptive, and you convey your wisdom very well through your writing. Like with your journal entries, I can relate to this poem a lot- specifically, the starving and self-mutilation as coping mechanisms, in order to become numb. Those are part of my past now, but I think it's so important for them to be openly discussed since so many people suffer from them. I have tremendous respect for you for writing about them, and telling it like it is. You're an amazing writer! Keep it up.
